Proven industry leaders take helm of KW Learning and the KW Expansion Network

AUSTIN, TEXAS August 25, 2021 — Keller Williams (“KW”), the world’s largest real estate technology franchise by agent count, announced key executive moves within KW Learning, a training and coaching division, and the KW Expansion Network, a recently announced national brokerage for expansion teams.

James Shaw, vice president of learning

A transformational leader, Shaw will oversee KW’s holistic training direction, reshaping its capabilities while maintaining its strong culture. Since joining KW in 2005, he has served as a top-producing agent, an assistant team leader, a team leader of a KW market center, a BOLD Coach, a KW MAPS Coach, a Keller Williams University Master Faculty member, and a regional leader.

In 2020, Shaw launched the Pivot: Shift Ahead Facebook community and hosted daily mastermind calls with agents across the world. Currently, more than 86.7 thousand real estate professionals are members of the community.

Jay Papasan, vice president of strategic content

In collaboration with Gary Keller, the executive chairman of KW, Papasan will now lead efforts to extend Keller’s bestselling book series, create training and mastermind content for top performers, launch new podcasts, and co-host events, such as Mega Camp and Family Reunion. 

Previously, Papasan served as vice president of learning. Keller and Papasan are the bestselling co-authors of The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary ResultsThe Millionaire Real Estate AgentThe Millionaire Real Estate Investor, and SHIFT: How Top Real Estate Agents Tackle Tough Times.

Meredith Maples, senior director of Keller William University (KWU)

Maples will lead KWU, overseeing the creation and delivery of world-class learning experiences, and guiding the direction and creation of KW’s proprietary learning platform. Previously, she served as a learning and development leader and instructional designer for more than five years with KW.

Prior to joining KW, Maples served as a senior instructional designer at MAXIMUS, a leading provider of government services, manager of learning and development and community manager of development at the American Cancer Society, and adjunct instructor at Tulsa Community College.

Cody Gibson, director of expansion

Gibson has been appointed director of expansion for the recently announced Keller Williams Expansion Network. By early 2022, the KW Expansion Network will be operational in all 50 states. Throughout 2021, KW will continue to initialize operations of the network.

A 20-plus-year real estate veteran, Gibson is the CEO of the Portland Real Estate Group and the United Home Group, which collectively operate 109 offices in 26 states and five countries with 206 partners.
